Keep up with the Latest Joys

Alexandra Rae’s energy and passion for agriculture has landed her on local television and Google’s “Where There’s Help, There’s Hope” on behalf of fresh produce brands as well as in several fresh produce industry publications. Her field and product photography has also been featured on dozens of fresh produce brands’ marketing materials, including Bako Sweet where she is currently the marketing manager. Alexandra’s propensity to capture the beauty and vastness of American farming through photography and interview-style videos has won the hearts of people on Instagram and TikTok - most of whom are Millennials seeking to understand where their food comes from.

We loved that Alexandra was able to take a simple concept and make the experience both personal and whimsical. We were fortunate that she had access to a wonderful apple orchard to create a rich and engaging reel/photo series for a branded variety for us. It was fun seeing her creative and artistic side fold into one of our brands.

Social media matters: Get influenced

“We’re essentially talking to ourselves, so if your content is not going to intrigue you to go buy a product, it likely isn't going to work with your audience either,” said Alexandra Molumby, marketing director of Bako Sweet and a produce-advocate influencer under the handle “Harvest Joy,” which has more than 15,000 TikTok followers.

Molumby and two other influential marketers shared their latest learnings and tips in a panel discussion at the International Fresh Produce Association’s Global Produce & Floral Show.

How long does a carved or uncarved pumpkin last?

These are the timings you need to know about this fall – and the tips experts use to preserve the fruit around Halloween. Before cutting, Alexandra Rae Molumby, the founder of Harvest Joy, recommends cleaning the fruit with soap and water and using a veggie brush to clean off any dirt.

'As soon as you cut into the pumpkin, it speeds up the decomposing process. Cleaning it cuts down on the number of bacteria that eventually lead to molding,' Alexandra says.
